My collage is titled "Smoking Hot'. The overall message I'm trying to state is to show the things that make me, me. The first layer over my selfie is my grandpa's record store. I love music and it is one of the biggest parts of my life; music is the way I de-stress. My next layer is the Michigan Theater sign. I am fourth generation Ann Arbor and when I think of my town this sign always comes to mind. My third picture is a vintage license plate from my family's 1965 Falcon and it has made a lot of childhood memories and I want to learn how to drive it. My fourth is a gnome because there is always one in my garden and my other grandpa loves them. In photoshop, I just used the opacity tool. My collage is entitled "Smoking Hot" because it describes who I am- I love humor.
FINAL ARTIST STATMENT- Well I don't really appreciate either of them but that's life. I don't like the way the pictures I have to heavily edit with weird stuff end up looking because I suck at photoshop. They're both kinda foggy looking. The first one is uglier and less clean looking although the second one is also not that clear. The second one you can see the background better though. Overall I like the second one better because the lake is more visible and it's not visually confusing.
DOUBLE EXPOSURE
ARTIST STATEMENT: I chose the picture of me drinking tea, entitled "Sippin' Tea" because I feel like it really displays things that I like. I like to drink tea out of my dad's fancy thermos. I chose the picture of the lake because that is a very special place to me. My granny, who passed away last summer, raised my grandma there and my family always visits. It is very pretty, especially during sunset and this particular one had something blue in the sky that resembled northern lights. I entitled it "Northern Lights?".
