ARTIST STATEMENT: (The River) In this photograph, I drove out on Huron River Drive to find a pathway to the river. I walked down a trail and found a little secluded area where there was baby fish, frogs and tadpoles swimming. I love nature and wildlife and this area made me feel at home. It was a sunny late afternoon and the water was very clear, so the reflections on the shallow water were very visible. I could see the sky looking down almost better than up because of the abundance of trees. In photoshop, I increased the brightness but made it darker again in levels. I increased the contrast and vibrance as well.

ARTIST STATEMENT: (Bridge) I took this picture in late afternoon when I was walking from downtown to the arb. I took a bridge over Huron st. and I noticed these cool shadows coming from the windows. I liked how it created a pattern of diagonal parallel lines. I like how much shadows change the appearance of something; in this photo it's kind of hard to tell it's a sidewalk. In photoshop, I made it darker and increased the contrast so the shadow would look a lot darker.
